The Enneagram Institute® Conscious Collaborations Series brings together thought leaders and practitioners from across the Enneagram field and complementary modalities to broaden our collective understanding in deep, rich, and innovative new ways. Contemplating the Enneagram workshop explores the original meaning of the Enneagram, the history of the authentic contemplative path in the Western tradition, and how these foundations of inner work can be successfully woven with the Enneagram of personality. Russ and Cynthia come together in this brand new exploration to present a dynamic and different take on how a deeper understanding of the Enneagram, grounded in its roots, can radically expedite our psychological and spiritual growth.

Topics will include:

  • The various lineages of the Enneagram.
  • How the Enneagram relates to cosmic laws.
  • Lawful asymmetry and the dynamism of the Enneagram.
  • The Enneagram as a tool for the evolution of conscious development.
  • Using the Enneagram to work with flow rather than against it.
  • Interweaving two existing lines of inquiry—the Western tradition and the Enneagram of personality—to give birth to something new.

The Rev. Dr. Cynthia Bourgeault
Modern day mystic, Episcopal priest, writer, and internationally known retreat leader, Cynthia Bourgeault divides her time between solitude at her seaside hermitage in Maine, and a demanding schedule traveling globally to teach and spread the recovery of the Christian contemplative and Wisdom path. Russ Hudson is one of the principal scholars and innovative thinkers in the Enneagram world today. He has been teaching all levels of Enneagram programs in many settings throughout the world since 1991, and has co-authored five major Enneagram books, including the Wisdom of the Enneagram. Russ holds a degree in East Asian Studies from Columbia University in New York, from which he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

After over a quarter of a century of teaching the Enneagram work across the planet, Russ has focused powerfully on the developmental aspects of the system more than simply describing personality styles. He uses the Enneagram to develop presence in people and help them go beyond psychological patterns to the deeper resources of their consciousness, allowing much greater inner freedom and creativity. He also trained for years in some of the original teachings behind the Enneagram to learn, experientially, the inner dynamics of the system, and takes students far beyond a static way of typing people. Russ has often been quoted as saying “The real Enneagram does not put you in a box. It shows you the box you did not realize you were already in and shows you the way out.” Russ is a co-founder of The Enneagram Institute®, and is a Founding Director and former Vice-President of the International Enneagram Association.
