Virtual Easter Retreat and Practicum 2020 with Bill Redfield

Apr 12 - May 31, 2020

I would like to invite you to this Virtual Easter Retreat and Practicum. This is an innovative Wisdom approach to the movement through The Great Fifty Days of Easter that will take into particular account the unique nature of the times we are living through. Its purpose is to assist participants to integrate the lived realities of resurrection in a time of challenge. Participation in this retreat can be done on one’s own schedule and in one’s own home—we are all there now, anyways! While it will provide a certain structure to the duration of this sacred period—from Easter Sunday, April 12, through the Sunday of Pentecost, May 31—there will be enough variation and flexibility that it can be worked through at one’s own speed.

COMPONENTS
There will be three basic components to this retreat:

  1. Every Wednesday and Sunday during Easter participants will be given a link to a Guided Reflection. These recordings will be about 20-25 minutes in length and can be listened to at any point throughout this period. These reflections will be the main connecting threads that will weave the themes of the whole retreat together.
  2. There will be four scheduled Zoom gatherings each week during this Easter season. These 75-minute gatherings will take place on Mondays at 7 am, Tuesdays at 11 am, Thursdays at 3 pm and Fridays at 5 pm. (All times are Eastern Daylight Savings Time.) These times are spread out during the day to provide as much flexibility and accommodation to those living in different time zones. Each week on those four different days and at those staggered times, a new practice will be introduced and then practiced together throughout the week. In these Zoom gatherings there will be time following the shared practice to fine-tune and to process the practice. People can attend as many or as few of these gatherings as they choose. Because of peoples’ other commitments as well as the difficulties with time zones, not everyone will be able to participate in these. That’s OK; they are completely optional.
  3. These practices will also be available to participants for their individual usage. These practices will take us beyond Centering Prayer into a deeper sense of embodiment and will include an active engagement with the world through specific energetic actions of love and caring. Practices of being with the dying and the dead will be included.
