Taoist Wisdom Practices with Allen Bourque

A 6-week Zoom course Tuesdays from 4:30-6:00 pm EST
Taoist practices (known in the West primarily through tai chi and qigong) have always assumed unity of body, mind and spirit. They can bring us ever more deeply into what is essential and empower us to bring our deepening integrity out into the world. The practices we will work with in this course, which is specifically designed for Wisdom students, will support us to:
- calm and strengthen our nervous systems, deepen breathing and help develop our overall well being, stamina and aliveness;
- increase and integrate awareness of our inner and outer environments;
- are easily incorporated into daily life and can have strong and clear effects when done regularly.
Although most class time is devoted to movement (and standing meditation!), sitting meditation and dialogue are essential components of our time together.
We will meet for 1 1/2 hours a week via Zoom for 6 weeks. By the end of the course, you will have sufficient familiarity with the practices to continue on your own.
No previous tai chi or qigong experience is required. An intention to practice at least 10 minutes a day (preferably 20) for the duration of the course will make your participation most beneficial. The course will be interactive and is limited to 8 participants.
